May 2nd through May 4th, 2016, London, Ontario, CANADA

The Great Lakes Quasar Symposium is the first in a series of regional conferences on actively accreting supermassive black holes.  This year's theme is "Accretion and Outflows."

The conference will be organized around contributed talks and posters with several opportunities for open discussion. Young researchers, post-docs, and PhD students, in particular, are encouraged to attend and present their current research.

The symposium will be held in the Physics and Astronomy Building on the campus of the University of Western Ontario with an introductory keynote talk by Karen Leighly (University of Oklahoma) on the afternoon of Monday, May 2nd, a full-day session on Tuesday, May 3rd, and a part-day session on Wednesday, May 4th.  The schedule is set to enable travel on Monday morning and Wednesday afternoon for participants from the Great Lakes region of North America.  A welcoming reception on Monday evening in the Atrium of the Physics and Astronomy Building will follow the first session, and the Tuesday evening banquet will feature guest of honour Daniel Weedman (Cornell University).

Inquiries can be sent to "greatlakesquasars[at]gmail.com."  The twitter hashtag is #glqs2016.
